Tracer Tags is a registered identification service. Driven by the World Wide Web and high tech communications we assist in returning lost and stolen property back to their owners through our uniquely numbered identification tags.
How do the Tracer Tags help me get lost items back?
A.
Tracer Tags are uniquely numbered tags that, when placed on your possessions, they identify the item as yours. By activating your Tracer Tags, your Tracer Tag Identification Numbers are used to match you to the item you have placed the numbered Tracer Tag upon, without disclosing any of your personal information.
We do most of the work for you. When your belongings are found we telephone or email you to give you the good news. If you like you can go to our website and fill out a lost items report to alert us. We then assist you in determining the best way to get your belongings back.
We suggest that you contact a UPS Store or FedEx/Kinko's close to your finders location. A UPS store can be located at www.ups.com or FedEx/Kinko's at www.fedex.com. Give the store location to your finder and pre-pay for the shipment of your package back to you. The process is simple, easy and eliminates all costs to the finder. It is your responsibility to make the arrangements to have your lost item returned to you unless Tracer Tags is acting as an intermediary.
Studies have indicated that tagging or marking your belongings is very beneficial in the retrieval process. A determined criminal can take any tag off but may deface the item in the process, making the resale process more difficult.
If I live in the United States or Canada, but lost my property in another country, will my Tracer Tags still work?
A.
Tracer Tags have no geographic boundaries. Anyone connected to the internet can access the website 24/7 to report an item found. If they should happen not to have internet access, they can call us to report the item found as well.
What if my email address and/or personal information changes from what I have initially submitted when I activated my Tracer Tag?
A.
Personal information, your e-mail address, and password can be changed 24/7 on the web site or by calling our office toll free, during normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., PST at 877-687-2237, or 818-887-0827 for International calls. To change your information in our data files, simply click on the "Members Area" button on our home page and enter your username and password to access your personal information.
Tracer Tags on your possessions identifies the item as yours without compromising your personal information, and stops identity thieft. Unlike older forms of identification tags where you wrote your name, address and phone number on the tag if lost, you could be contacted; Tracer Tags acts as a go between to keep your private information private. You can feel confident that when your private property has a Tracer Tag on it, no one can view your name, address or phone number when out in public. The finder will not contact you until you contact them to make arrangements to get your lost property back.
